This family restaurant between Elwood City and Koppel includes a wide variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner selections. Although the Wolverine looks small from the outside, they have 2 banquet rooms and 2 dining rooms. Chicken fried steak seems to be a common special. Some unique items are the Pittsburgh sandwiches, with cole slaw and fries on the sandwich. I usually come here on Sundays for brunch and they are always packed, yet the food is served quickly. Comfort foods, breakfast all day, fast service, good prices.

We stumbled across this restaurant and tried it because of the name (the sign reads Chris' Wolverine Restaurant, but sadly there were no X-Men in attendance). The hot Italian sausage sandwich, eggplant sandwich, and meatball sub were all delicious, but you may want to ask for more sauce for the sausage and eggplant sandwiches, which they bring cheerfully. The sauce they make is great, as is the food. They don't come with sides but if you order their fries, the serving size is big enough to share. The fries were crispy and seasoned just right. The decor is cute: country kitsch. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We may become regulars here. They advertise dinner for two choices for under $16. Others have complained about the service but we came on Saturday for a late lunch, so I can't comment on that.

My usual Saturday Diner was closed so I stopped here for breakfast. When you walk in you will see a sign that notes for you to seat yourself. When I sat down, a young man came over to get my order. I didn't have menus I told him. Apparently I was supposed to get them myself when I walked in. If you are not a regular or here for the first time, this can be confusing. I ordered pancakes and sausage. The meal was 5.95. Not bad. I ran out of syrup at one point but never got to ask my waiter for more being he only came to the table just to take the order, deliver the food, and drop off the check. The pancakes were nothing special. Reminded me of Mc Donalds. They also serve dinner here too. The place had some art that kept me entertained. The place is also very dim. I was about to crack out a flashlight to read my menu.

Good place to bring your kids if you are in a hurry and need something cheap. Service is ok, waitress' are usually pleasant. This is a pace your likely to find grandma/pa after church. Don't go on Sunday, it's busy Haha... Score Food Quality 3 Service 3 Atmosphere 3 Value 4 Recommend 3

Weird hours. Okay food. Okay service. There are other places in Ellwood I'd pick before this. Actually, this doesn't even cross my mind as an option. It's just mediocre.

I used to be a huge fan. Home cooked meals, decent prices, friendly service. However, the last few times I've been there, the service has gotten to be very slow. It took 15 minutes to even have someone take our drink order the last time I was there. I'm thinking we will be finding somewhere else to go for lunch after church from now on.
